Re: MtMan-List: 50-110

The 50-110 cartridge known as the 50-110 Winchester High velocity has a
total length of 2.75 inches and the brass case is 2 3/8 long. It fired a
300gr. metal jacket soft point bullet and held 110 grs. of powder.
The cartridge was developed for use in the Model 1886 Winchester
Repeating Rifle. This rifle came out first in the 45-70 caliber and
shortly thereafter it was produced in the 50-110 caliber. Various types
of bullets have been produced...lead, full jacket, soft point and hollow
point.
