RE: MtMan-List: tripping - Omaha
Scott,
Although you may not have a lot of time to take in the sights here,
please count on getting together for a drink, dinner, or whatever. I've
enjoyed lurking and "hearing" what you have to say. There are only a
fraction of us here in the club who are interested in the earlier
longhunter period - mostly USAF or ex USAF folks from back east. If you
think you will have time, I may be able to round up a couple of folks
for the evening of the 24th or 25th. We could sit around the fire and
swap lies at our club range or head to the settlements. Let me know
whether you will have time and where I can contact you. The rondezvous
is a couple of hours away, so there is little opportunity to make that
unless you can squeak in an extra day. If you are out here again, Ft.
Atkinson (1821-1827) is 30 minutes North of Omaha and also a great place
to visit. It's a state park with re-enactors in full force the 1st
weekend of the summer months. Try

parks.
